Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants Reveal – The Inaugural 51-100 List for 2022

LONDON, Nov. 3, 2022 – Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants award ceremony is scheduled to take place on Tuesday 15th November 2022 in Mérida, Yucatán. Slated to be the first in-person meeting for the region’s gastronomic community since 2019, they’ve added a new list alongside the main 1-50 list ranking. For the first time, Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants is expanding to include a total of 100 venues; the 51-100 list adds a selection of diverse extraordinary restaurants to the main 1-50 ranking. The 51-100 list was voted for by the same 300 Academy members that votes for the main list of Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants; it was created to include and “shine a spotlight …on a greater number of hospitality establishments and culinary cultures”. Announced on November 3rd, the 51-100 list, presented with American Express, has been revealed and is available online currently (on Youtube and following this post). The inaugural 51-100 list highlights two new culinary destinations — Flor de Lis in Guatemala City at No.51 and Origem in Salvador de Bahia at No.52. Buenos Aires, Argentina stands out as a center for culinary excellence with six restaurants on the extended list – the most of any destination. Restaurants on the list include: Alo’s (No.53), Anafe (No.55), Crizia (No.66), Anchoita (No.73), Niño Gordo (No.75), and Narda Comedor (No.87).
