Chilean Documentary Receives Academy Award Nomination – Director Maite Alberdi

Universally acclaimed and already an award winning film, The Eternal Memory (Spanish: La memoria infinita) has been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature Film. Directed by Chilean film producer, screenwriter and documentary maker Maite Alberdi Soto, her latest documentary charts the relationship of a couple, Augusto Góngora and Paulina Urrutia, whose lives have been impacted by Alzheimer’s. The documentary has been widely embraced by audiences for its depth and intimate portrayal. Additionally, it has received rave reviews from movie critics who praise it for its realism, references to the dictator Pinochet’s atrocities as well as moments of levity.
